Welcome
Nestled in the heart of the Lake District, Coniston Sports & Social Centre (CSSC) serves as a vital hub for our busy village. Its foundation owes much to the generosity of local resident John Usher, who, upon his passing in 1993, bequeathed the majority of his estate to five village organisations, including the long-established Coniston Amateur Football Club (Coniston AFC).
Demonstrating remarkable community spirit, Coniston AFC generously donated their legacy towards the establishment of CSSC. A dedicated committee of local volunteers then undertook the crucial task of coordinating the project, securing further funding through local fundraising initiatives and a significant grant from Sport England’s Lottery Fund.
Sports
We offer an exceptional range of sports and fitness facilities, including football grounds, a modern gym, and a versatile outdoor multi-use area. Our sports and fitness offering has it all.
Community
We love being a hub for our community, offering a range of activities. From youth club and children’s parties to the village fireworks and our emergency resilience centre. There is always something happening at CSSC.
Venue
Whether you require a function room and bar, camping spaces, or village parking, we’ve got you covered with our facilities, including hardstanding pitches and ample parking for 75 cars.
